Raymond Drage

Founder & Nyiyaparli Traditional Owner

Raymond Drage is a Nyiyaparli Traditional Owner and the founding Director of GUMA. A respected Elder and businessman, Raymond has a deep knowledge of the Traditional Owner groups of the East Pilbara and has spent decades advocating for the protection of Country and heritage.

Raymond co-founded GUMA in 2012 alongside Michael Stream and Victor Parker, with a vision to create a mining services company that would deliver economic opportunity back to Indigenous communities. His leadership has been instrumental in establishing GUMA as a trusted partner to major resource companies across the Pilbara.

Raymond's connection to the land is deeply personal. Every project GUMA undertakes is, for him, a way to honour his ancestors and contribute to the growth and empowerment of the Nyiyaparli people. He serves as a bridge between Indigenous heritage and the demands of the modern mining industry — ensuring that cultural respect is woven into every aspect of operations.
